Bio

Elmira Karimi is a PhD Candidate of Library and Information Science at Iranian Research Institute for Information Science & Technology (IranDoc). She got her MA in library and information science from Tarbiat Moddares university in 2012 and received her BA from Ferdowsi university of Mashhad in 2010. Her research areas are ontology and information retrieval. Now she works on her thesis, "Design of conceptual model for user oriented information retrieval based on ontology: The case of Institute of Information Science and Technology theses database".

Abstract: 

Due to development of Web 3, and initiation of topics about semantics, the keyword searching and retrieving, do not meet the user's needs. Different solutions are provided to solve the keyword information retrieval problems. One of these solutions is the use of ontologies and semantic relationships in them. This study seeks to identify the manner`s features and components of the use semantic relationships in ontologies in information retrieval with a mixed method study.
