There are over 100,000 postgraduate students in Iran who need to write, submit and defend a thesis or dissertation to get their Master or PhD degree. These students study in different universities and higher education institutes, and to write their thesis/dissertation they need to follow various writing styles. However, some of these writing guidelines suffer from some deficiencies; some are out of dated, some meet just part of the needs of students, some are found hardly, and some of these guidelines are updated regularly. On the other hand, the useful writing guidelines do not follow similar principles, hence there is no consistency in the thesis writing styles offered by these guidelines. Due to such deficiencies, diversity and inconsistency in the writing guidelines, it is hard to write and present theses and dissertations in a standard and unified way.
To address this gap, IranDoc created this website for writing thesis and dissertation. Indeed, this website is a response to the MSRT Research Office request which delivers a consistent, comprehensive, and up-to-dated style for writing. This writing guideline is delivered to all postgraduate students in Iran. By following the step-by-step instructions delivered in this guideline, consistency in the writing and formatting style is back to the theses and dissertations produced in Iran.
In addition to the writing guideline, on this website, there are various Microsoft Word templates available to students which can be simply downloaded and used by students. Users are also provided with a wide range of useful resources and links. These resources assist users throughout their writing journey.
